Why be a FNTFO member?
Official union membership makes you eligible to vote in elections and ratify collective agreeements. FNTFO members have a voice in deciding the union’s plans, how the group proceeds as an organization and can authorize collective work actions. As a member, you can help guide FNTFO by becoming active in committees (such as bargaining) and hold office in FNTFO. Non-members do not have these rights.
Members will also receive all communications from the union about the progress of union matters including bargaining and union events.
Do you Qualify for FNTFO Membership?
FNTFO membership is open to all nontenure-track faculty employed by Ferris State University who provided direct classroom instruction at the Big Rapids Campus for three (3) or more credit hours per semester in any two (2) semesters within the previous four (4) consecutive semesters or who are employed to provide direct classroom instruction for three (3) or more credit hours in the fall and spring semester in the current academic year. For the purposes of defining the bargaining unit herein, “semesters” shall include the fall or spring semesters, but shall not include the summer semester.
